Dear PDC patient,
As you may know, dental services are included in Phase 1 of the Re-open Saskatchewan plan as per the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA). Therefore, we are able to expand our services beyond our current emergency services model. While we continue to have some limitations to our treatment options, we are booking appointments. Our goal at this time is to ensure that patients are made comfortable and have their dental concerns addressed.
As we begin to broaden our services and embark on this new phase of treatment delivery, we have modified our clinic protocols and procedures. During your next appointment you will notice staff wearing more personal protective equipment (PPE), a new shield around our front desk, thermal temperature checks on all patients, a limited number of patients in the office at once, pre-screening questionnaire and increased disinfection of all common areas.
We want to assure you that we have researched, investigated and implemented safety protocols from our extensive network of international dental colleagues. We are confident that our office is a safe environment as we have exceeded the recommended SHA safety guidelines.
As well, the SHA has provided new requirements for all Aerosol Generating Procedures (AGP) to ensure that patients and staff are protected and safe. As their name indicates, AGP’s are treatments that emit aerosols into the air which can potentially transmit the virus from asymptomatic patients. Preston Dental Centre has taken significant precautions to isolate these procedures and we have implemented technology that effectively scrubs and disinfects affected air.
We know many of you have been waiting patiently to rebook dental hygiene appointments and we are tentatively planning to provide these services beginning Monday May 11th. We are booking these appointments however, we have limited capacity and will continue to add more staff and appointments in the coming weeks.
During this unprecedented time we appreciate the support of our staff and patients for their commitment and understanding as we continue to evolve and strive to maintain our high standard of care and new safety protocols.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Respectfully,
Dr. Jason Langin D.M.D
