Dr. Mat Savoie was born and raised in Ontario and completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Ottawa. He went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at McGill University in 2016. Throughout his training, Dr. Savoie refined his skills through exposure to a variety of clinical settings, none more valuable than a humanitarian mission trip providing dental care to a rural underserved community in the Yucatan province of Mexico.
Further expanding his diversity of experience, Dr. Savoie furthered his education by completing a one-year residency at the prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, New York. His time at Mount Sinai allowed him to gain expertise in treating medically complex patients, expand his surgical skills in the clinic and operating room, and to become adept at managing acute traumas and infections.
Shortly after moving to Saskatoon with his wife, Katherine, in 2017, Dr. Savoie joined Preston Dental Centre due to their dedication to patient care and commitment to continuing education, as evidenced by their involvement with the esteemed Kois program and state-of-the-art clinic. Dr. Savoie is happy to be part of the Preston Dental team and is looking forward to building a long-term and loyal patient base.
In his spare time, Dr. Savoie enjoys spending time at home with his wife, playing hockey and golf, travelling, cooking, and exploring Saskatoon.
